Match Report | What a win! Derwent played with rejigged team after Ben Morton didnt turn up because he was hung over. He did tell me but I simply didnt believe him until Alex told me three minutes before the game. Such are the challenges of captaincy. Tamworth played better than their results show and they went one up with a well taken reverse stick goal. Pooley Senior at centre back (or defensive centre midfield as we tell Ben when hes not been drinking) looked all at sea until he got settled in. Evan Connell finished off a Tom Leech run to even up and in the second half Tom Leech put us two one up. Tamworth sensing points pushed forward and nearly got them but for a stunning double save from Sam Steele. Probably our best win after Nuneaton away. |
