Derwent 3XI v North Notts 3XI     5 - 2

Another strong win for Derwent Thirds pushed us up the table. Quick thinking by Ollie Rhodes caught a Notts defender in possession however his shot was saved by the keeper and rolled to the edge of the D only for Chris Pooley to drill a strong shot home. Another goal followed quickly afterwards with Tom Leech slotting home from close range after good approach work.

Notts gradually worked their way into the game calling emergency keeper Harry Brereton into action. A Derwent break away led to short corner where Fred Drabble stepped up to open his account for the season with a strong shot that was deflected into the net by an defender's stick.

North Notts then pulled one back on the stroke of half time.

The second half with Derwent failing to convert a series of chances, the most notable being Chris Pooley with a shot past the post from 3 yards with only the keeper to beat and time to spare.

Derwent then had to weather another period of pressure as Ollie Rhodes recieved a yellow card. Battling performances from Ben, Merrick, Fred Drabble, Chris Rodgers, Ben Morton and Alex Talbot stemmed a potential tide as North Notts tried to muscle into the game. Ollie Rhode's return led a series of counter attacks and as superior Derwent fitness told, Josh Simmons and Sam Pooley started to gain space on the right. Supported by Chris Rodgers and the distribution of Tony Goulding, the Notts defence started to creak. A combination of passes between Ollie Rhodes and Chris Pooley led to the Notts keeper saving but it fell back to Pooley who made no mistake this time. Another Fred Drabble short corner put Derwent 5 - 1 ahead. A late Notts consolation game meant a final score of 5 - 2.
