Match Report | Goals from Gary Shardlow, 2 for Chris Pooley and a reported belter from Tom Leach to complete the 4 goal victory, with the yellow card for Tom Leach the only real disappointment of the day. Well deserved Man of the Match for Ben Merrick. Points finally on the board with Derwent starting strongly. It took a while for us assert our authority but a well taken goal by Gary Shardlow and a route one effort from Pooley Senoir saw Derwert two up at half term. Sam Steele was called into action on a few occasions as a couple of the Kettering players posed a threat in the first half. Derwent again started the second strongly going three up soon after half time with another goal from Chris Pooley. A period of pressure from Kettering following a yellow card to Tom Leech and string of short corners meant that Derwent had to hold fast but once back on the pitch Tom Leech brilliantly converted a very poor pass from Chris Pooley past a bemused Kettering keeper. More than a few chances to go further ahead were missed. The last ten minutes were particularly notable for Derwent 3s gaining their first two short corners of the season. Honourable mentions to Ben Merrick and strong performances from Josh Simmons. Evan Connell and Sam Pooley made for a pleasing match.
