Men's Third Eleven Vs North Notts

A bare 11 with 2 14 year old players against a NN side suspiciously different to the one we played earlier this season and with little recollection of that game or the previous days win... But then I'm always looking for excuses!

Early North Notts pressure saw the go 1 up - short corner think - wasnt looking cos man flu and a 'Mortonesque' hangover had the better of me. To their surprise we kept pushing forward and after a period of sustained pressure, won a short corner. As per the script Fred stepped home and fired an exocet into the bottom corner. 1 all. NN then went 2-1 up with a well worked goal. NN then pushed forward going 3-1 up after a rare slip up in the Derwent defence but only after an incredible goal line clearence from Chris Rogers. 3-1 to NN, Leechy injury score 4.

A quck re shuffle brought sick boy Pooley into midfield with the two Alex's and off we went again. Derwent had the better of NN in the second half. Sustained pressure saw Gary Shardlow and Evan Connell going very close and a few short corners. Pooley Senior slotted home for 2-3. Again we pressed forward but a lost ball on the right lead to a quick break away and a fourth NN goal. 2-4. Again Derwent dominated and having nothin to lose went forward with Alex Jones jinking into the D and making it 3-4. Then we ran out of time. Too bad but I think we worried them.
