Match Report | And so the Derwent Masters adventure for 2014-15 ends. Stourport have one of the leading Masters Club sides in the Midlands and a five goal flurry midway through the first half put paid to Derwent's ambitions of progress. An early yellow card for the Stourport Goalkeeper could have been warranted as he slide outside of his area to tackle Andy McKeown. However, only a penatly corner was awarded and so started Stourport's dominance of the first half. With a 7-1 deficit at half time, Derwent resolved to stay very much on the front foot and not retreat into their own half. Stourport still had most of the play but some fine defending by all the outfield players and several notable saves by Neil English kept the second half goals down to 2. Both Derwent goals were well taken by Jeff Longden. |
